Job summary

Walker Consultants is seeking a Restoration Consultant to join our growing team in Overland Park, KS. You will evaluate existing structures, develop repair strategies, and oversee restoration efforts on diverse projects.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural/Architectural Engineering or Architecture, a professional license, 5+ years in forensic/restoration, strong writing and communication, client-relations experience, and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering, or Architecture.
• Professional license in architecture, structural engineering, or civil engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in forensic/restoration projects, with reports and restoration documents.
• Strong writing, communication, and teamwork.
• Experience building and maintaining client relationships.
• Willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate existing structures and diagnose deficiencies contributing to damage or deterioration.
• Develop repair strategies and oversee restoration efforts.
• Manage investigations, surveys, and testing of structures.
• Review plans, specifications, and calculations prepared by others.
• Monitor project progress, budget adherence, and procedural standards.
• Prepare and review condition appraisals and repair recommendations.
• Maintain project documentation in project management software.
• Lead and coordinate engineers and technical staff on multiple projects.
• Promote restoration and forensic engineering services to clients.
• Assist with training less experienced staff.
