Job summary

Advanced Restoration Corporation is seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join our team on full-time, on-site basis on Long Island. The role focuses on estimating residential restoration projects, and coordinating with homeowners, adjusters, and subcontractors.

You will inspect properties after water, fire, mold, and storm damage, develop detailed scopes, review insurance estimates, and prepare supplements as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in restoration, reconstruction, or insurance estimating.
• Experience with Xactimate preferred (certification a plus).
• Strong knowledge of residential construction and building practices.
• Ability to read plans and quantify materials and labor accurately.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Construction Estimator to join our growing team. This position is ideal for someone with experience in residential construction, restoration, insurance claims, and estimating who can scope needed repairs and effectively communicate with clients and adjusters.

Position Responsibilities

• Inspect residential properties and assess damage following water, fire, mold, smoke and storm damage.
• Develop accurate scopes of work for kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, drywall, painting, roofing, framing, cabinetry, and other residential reconstruction.
• Work with homeowners, insurance adjusters, property managers, and subcontractors throughout the project.
• Review insurance estimates and identify discrepancies, supplements, and additional work required.
• Prepare and submit supplements when additional damage or necessary repairs are discovered.
• Obtain material and subcontractor pricing to ensure accurate project costs.
• Communicate project scope, pricing, and expectations clearly with customers.
• Coordinate with project managers, production staff, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Perform job site inspections and document existing conditions and completed work.
• Assist with change orders and project documentation.
• Maintain accurate job files, estimates, photographs, and supporting documentation.
• Help ensure projects are completed according to the approved scope, budget, and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in restoration, reconstruction, residential construction, or insurance estimating
• Experience with Xactimate preferred
• Strong understanding of residential construction and building practices
• Ability to read plans, understand scopes of work, and accurately quantify materials and labor
• Knowledge of insurance related repairs and restoration estimating preferred
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to travel throughout Long Island

Preferred Experience

• 3+ years of restoration or residential construction estimating experience
• Xactimate certification or extensive Xactimate experience
• Experience handling insurance restoration claims
• Knowledge of water, fire, mold, and storm restoration
• Experience with supplements and insurance scope of repair negotiations
• Construction or restoration industry certifications are a plus
