Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Restoration Technician to perform field restoration tasks across streams, prairies, and woodlands. You will plant, seed, apply erosion controls, and support herbicide applications under the supervision of senior ecologists.

Ideal candidates hold a Natural Resources degree, can obtain a herbicide license within 30 days, and are willing to work outdoors in a team-driven environment. Local travel within Illinois is expected.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Natural Resources or related field.
• Must be able to acquire herbicide license within 30 days of start date.
• At least 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to move and carry 35–50 lbs. on a regular basis.
• Must be willing to work outside.
• Ability to work within a team-first culture.

Responsibilities

• Complete all restoration work, including planting, seeding, erosion control methods, brush cutting, and herbicide application.
• Perform restoration work within stream, prairie, and woodland areas.
• Assist with construction projects such as stream restoration and detention basin retrofits.
• Complete work for municipalities, subdivisions, and private clients.
• Work directly with senior ecologists.
• Projects generally within an hour of the company’s offices.
