Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson seeks a Project Engineer I to support ecological restoration projects in the Mid-Atlantic from Hunt Valley, MD. You will interpret project requirements, perform analyses, and prepare design documents under senior staff guidance for stream, wetland, and habitat restoration efforts.

The role emphasizes coordination with multidisciplinary teams, familiarity with permitting, and potential for career advancement within JMT's environmental services.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree in civil or environmental engineering.
• 5–10 years' experience in ecological restoration/mitigation projects.
• Proficiency with design software MicroStation ORD and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess, analyze, and design stream, wetland, and ecological restoration projects.
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using Hec-Ras or similar tools.
• Analyze survey data, maps and imagery to support planning and design.
• Develop erosion control designs and restoration specifications.
• Prepare plans, specs, reports, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate tasks with project team and ensure quality standards.
