Job summary

Onvo is seeking an experienced restaurant technician to manage multiple facilities across our stores, kitchens and restaurants. You will safely maintain and repair a variety of equipment, perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and respond to emergencies as required.

Responsibilities include scheduling repairs, maintaining records of parts and service, and assisting with projects to reduce downtime.

Qualifications

Job description

Job Description: Onvo is looking for an experienced and trained restaurant technician to manage multiple facilities. This position will be responsible for safely maintaining and repairing a variety of equipment in our stores, kitchens, and restaurants. Will also perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot, and respond to emergencies as required.

Essential Functions:
  • Troubleshoot and repair kitchen equipment, including fryers, ovens, dishwashers, and refrigeration equipment, safely and timely.
  • Perform preventative maintenance duties.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on equipment and systems.
  • Respond to emergencies: Fix unsafe or hazardous conditions, including after hours and on weekends.
  • Maintain records: Keep accurate records of repairs, parts, and supplies.
  • Schedule and track repairs: Process work orders and schedule restaurant visits.
  • Assist with projects: Help with projects to improve quality and reduce downtime.
  • Clean equipment: Clean and lubricate equipment.
  • Perform general upkeep: Participate in general upkeep of the restaurant facility.
  • Repair and maintain equipment toaster, fryers, grills, lights, and other kitchen/restaurant equipment, etc.
  • Have some electrical understanding of outlets, power cords, and related safety procedures.
  • Knowledge of plumbing, replacement of faucets, hoses, nozzles, etc.
  • Possess basic knowledge of mechanical and refrigeration systems related to kitchens and restaurants.
  • Execute effective administrative processes to schedule and track repairs, maintain parts and supplies inventory, and complete Credit Card expense reporting.
  • Process work orders submitted by restaurant teams, prioritize and schedule repairs.
  • Track and process parts purchases and appropriate billing to accounts payable.
  • Track and record completed repairs and maintain accurate records.
  • Responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing various commercial kitchen appliances and equipment in restaurants, including ovens, refrigerators, dishwashers, ice machines, and cooking ranges, etc.
  • Will perform routine maintenance checks, diagnose malfunctions, troubleshoot problems, order necessary parts, and ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently while adhering to food safety regulations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proven working experience in food preparation equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical procedures, governmental regulations, and business periodicals.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to solve practical problems.
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record.
  • Ability to pass a drug and background screening.
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal, across all levels of the organization.
  • Exercise good time and project management skills.
Credentials and Experience:
  • 5 years of related experience.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret schedules, equipment specifications, manuals and scopes of work.
  • Competent in App and PC-based scheduling and other job-related applications.
