Job summary

The Royal Duchy Hotel, part of Brend Collection, is seeking a Restaurant Host to deliver exceptional guest experiences in a fast-paced, upscale dining environment. Weekend and evening shifts are common, and roles involve standing for long periods and occasional lifting.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a host/hostess or front-of-house role.
• Ability to handle payments (cash and electronic).
• Knowledge of the hotel offering and restaurant menu.
• Excellent organisational skills and teamwork abilities.
• Self-motivated and able to prioritise tasks independently.

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding customer service to all guests from arrival to departure and assist with special requirements.
• Manage reservations and seating arrangements, considering guests needs.
• Handle waiting lists during peak times and inform guests of status and wait times.
• Collaborate with restaurant staff to ensure smooth service flow and guest experience.
• Promote menu items and services to guests and contribute to revenue.
• Process cash and electronic payments following procedures.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations to maintain a safe environment.

What will I be doing?

As a Restaurant Host The Royal Duchy Hotel, you will work in a fast-paced, up-scale dining environment. Weekend and evening shifts are common and requires standing for extended periods and occasional lifting or moving of light objects.

• Provide outstanding customer service to all guests from arrival to depature. Assist with any special requirements, deiterary or mobility restrictions, provide information on the hotel.
• Manage reservations and seating arrangements effectively and efficiently, taking into consideration guests requirements and needs.
• Effectively manage waiting lists during peak times, ensuring guests are kept informed about their table status and wait times.
• Collaborate with the restaurant staff to create a welcoming and inviting atmosphere. Work closely with the restaurant manager, servers, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow, effective communication, and seamless guest experiences.
• Promote menu items, beverages, and additional services to guests in a courteous manner, enhancing their dining experience while boosting restaurant revenue.
• Hand cash and electronic payments accurately and following Brend Collection’s financial procedures
• Adhere to health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe environment for both guests and staff members
