Job Summary

Breakfast & Lunch Buffet Server

Provide friendly, courteous, helpful, timely, and professional service of food and beverages, including order-taking and delivery, to ensure high guest satisfaction.

Essential Job Functions

This summary highlights primary responsibilities and qualifications. The hotel operates 24/7, so shifts may vary.

  1. Greet guests courteously and inform them of specials and promotions.
  2. Check station setup and cleanliness before, during, and after shifts.
  3. Record guest orders, repeat for accuracy, and input into POS system.
  4. Retrieve and deliver orders from the kitchen, confirming accuracy and providing condiments.
  5. Comply with liquor laws regarding minors and intoxicated guests.
  6. Replenish beverages and check guest satisfaction.
  7. Market and serve desserts or specialty coffees upon request.
  8. Assist in clearing and resetting tables.
  9. Perform side work, including restocking condiments and cleaning.
  10. Maintain health standards through cleaning tasks.
  11. Present checks promptly.
  12. Follow all policies, safety, and security procedures.
  13. Know fire prevention and emergency protocols.
  14. Use protective equipment and report unsafe conditions or incidents.
  15. Maintain a neat appearance per company standards.
  16. Perform additional duties as assigned and assist team members as needed.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of liquor laws and regulations.
  • Current Food Handler Card and valid TABC license.
  • Basic understanding of food/beverage service, guest relations, and etiquette.
  • Knowledge of table settings and service ware.
  • Basic English communication skills.
  • Ability to follow product instructions safely.
  • Recall and promote menu items.
  • Operate beverage equipment, e.g., coffee maker.
Physical Demands
  • Transport up to 30 lbs. repeatedly.
  • Lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Constant standing and walking, with frequent bending, reaching, and talking.
