Job summary

AC Hotel Waterfront Vancouver is seeking a Restaurant Server to join our growing restaurant team. Provide fast, friendly, professional service while upholding sanitation standards.

You will upsell, serve hot and cold items, attend to guests, and work collaboratively with a hotel team. Prior hospitality experience and a valid health/alcohol compliance card preferred; willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School diploma or GED required.
• Hospitality experience preferred.
• Excellent oral communication skills required.
• Positive interpersonal skills required.
• State health and/or alcohol compliance card.
• Ability and flexibility to work various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Upsell food and beverages when taking orders.
• Serve orders promptly and maintain proper food presentation.
• Attend to guests, keep beverages filled, and check back with guests.
• Report any quality issues to management.
• Pre-bus to maintain table presentation and present accurate checks.
• Report sales and gratuities; comply with gratuity procedures.

The Restaurant Server is responsible for providing service that is fast, friendly, efficient and professional, while maintaining all sanitation standards.

Responsibilities

• Consistently upsells both food and beverage items when taking the guests order
• Serves orders quickly - serves hot foods hot and serves cold foods as cold
• Attentive to guest needs such as keeping beverages full, serving condiments before food delivered and checking back with guests on their meal
• Informs manager of any quality issues
• Pre-busses as necessary to maintain proper presentation on tables
• Presents accurate guest checks promptly
• Accurately reports sales and gratuities
• Complies with gratuity procedures established by company policy
• Adheres to sanitation standards
• Adheres to local liquor laws, company policies and Alcohol Awareness programs. identification to ensure patrons are of legal drinking age
• Has full knowledge of the menu
• Maintains punctual, regular and predictable attendance
• Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation
• Displays excellent communication skills including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills required in working with guests and coworkers and including the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure
• Respectfully takes direction from supervisor
• Complies with all safety policies, practices and procedures and reports all unsafe activities to supervisor
• Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve hotel and company goals
• Provides leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge and skills
• Perform other duties as assigned and determined by the Manager
