Job summary

Courtyard Philadelphia Downtown is seeking a courteous Restaurant Server to provide food and beverage service to guests in a hotel setting, in accordance with brand standards.

You will take orders in the POS system, set and clear tables, prepare guest checks, and assist with bartending and bussing during peak periods while focusing on guest satisfaction. This role supports our EarthView sustainability program and requires standing for extended periods.

Qualifications

• Experience in food and beverage service or equivalent training.
• Knowledge of POS systems and basic cash handling.
• TIPS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Take food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS system.
• Ensure overall guest satisfaction and attentive service.
• Set and clear tables in dining areas.
• Stock service stations with items like ice, napkins, and straws.
• Assist with pickup from food prep areas and ensure accuracy of orders.
• Prepare guest checks and process payments when appropriate.
• Assist with bartending and bussing during peak periods.
• Monitor guest satisfaction scores and strive to improve service levels.
• Follow HHM EarthView sustainability guidelines in daily tasks.
• Practice safe work habits and use required safety equipment.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.

Your Focus

• Take food and beverage orders and place orders in the point of service system.


• Ensure overall guest satisfaction.


• Set and clear tables in dining areas.


• Stock service stations with items such as ice, napkins, or straws.


• Pick up orders from food preparation areas and ensure food is prepared accordingly.


• Prepare guest check and if appropriate complete payment transaction.


• Perform other food and beverage functions such as bartending and bussing in the event of staff staffing shortages or peak periods.


• Be aware of guest satisfaction scores and work toward increasing departmental and overall guest satisfaction.


• Follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to HHM’s EarthView program.


• Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment and follow MSDS and OSHA standards.


• Perform other duties as requested by management.

Your Background And Skills

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.


• Previous food and beverage experience required or equivalent training.


• Knowledge of POS systems.


• TIPS certification preferred.
