Job summary

Matchbox is seeking a Restaurant Manager in Arlington, VA to lead daily operations, supervise staff, and ensure exceptional guest experiences. You’ll drive service standards and teamwork in a fast-paced setting.

Collaborating with front-of-house and culinary teams, you’ll uphold safety, cleanliness, and inventory controls while optimizing profitability. Expect 50–55 hour weeks including evenings and weekends as business needs dictate.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily restaurant operations, ensuring seamless and efficient service.
• Lead and motivate the team to deliver exceptional guest experiences and achieve performance goals.
• Monitor and maintain restaurant cleanliness, safety, and compliance with health regulations.
• Manage inventory, ordering, and cost control to optimize profitability.
• Collaborate with the culinary and service teams to uphold the restaurant's high standards.
• Requires 50-55 hours per week, including evenings and weekends as business needs dictate.

Qualifications

• Experience managing fast-paced restaurant.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 6-8 hours).
• Lift and carry up to 20 lbs (e.g., menus, highchairs, booster seats).
• Reach, bend, and stoop occasionally.
• Use hands and arms to operate reservation systems and phones.
• Clear verbal communication skills and ability to interact with guests in a busy environment.
