Job Description

Reports To: Food & Beverage Director

Supervises: 20 to 40 Front of House Teammates

General Purpose: The Restaurant Manager manages the restaurant's daily operations, including the selection, development, and performance management of FOH teammates. They oversee inventory and ordering of food and supplies, optimize profits, and ensure guest satisfaction.

Specific Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the highest and most efficient level of service expected by guests.
  • Staff the restaurant sufficiently for each meal period.
  • Maintain high staff morale.
  • Lead by example, maintaining standards and managing costs.
  • Train staff consistently, using verbal and written assessments.
  • Ensure all employees follow service standards.
  • Identify operational efficiencies, cost-cutting, and revenue opportunities.
  • Maintain cleanliness of staff and restaurant areas.
  • Manage VIP guest awareness and review VIP names during pre-service meetings.
  • Seek continuous improvement for self, staff, and the company.
  • Cultivate a loyal customer base of regulars.
  • Arrive on time and prepared for scheduled shifts.
  • Maintain a positive attitude with staff and guests.
  • Keep the restaurant appearance clean and orderly.
  • Ensure proper staff uniforms and dress code.
  • Assist and execute tasks assigned by the General Manager.
  • Screen potential staff before interviews with the F&B Director.
  • Lead training for new hires and keep training documents updated.
  • Communicate re-training needs to the team.
  • Implement employee reward programs.
  • Participate in hiring and interviews.
  • Enforce steps of service protocols.
  • Complete HR paperwork and personnel forms.
  • Review and approve time clock activity.
  • Attend required meetings.
Qualifications
  • Proficient with Windows, Microsoft Office, and industry software.
  • Enthusiastic about 21c Museum Hotels and its values.
  • Pass a background check.
Education / Formal Training
  • Some college education preferred.
Experience
  • 2-4 years in high-volume, high-quality restaurant operations.
  • At least 1 year in management or supervisory roles.
  • Experience in restaurant line positions.
  • Strong F&B knowledge through education, work, and curiosity.
Travel Requirements
  • Minimal travel expected.
