Job summary

Umami Riot Experience in Boston is seeking a Restaurant Manager who thrives on the floor, energizes service, and believes hospitality is created, not just provided. You’ll lead by example, coach Front of House, and partner with the General Manager to keep daily operations running smoothly while upholding high standards for guest experiences.

This role requires staying calm under pressure, solving problems in real time, and building relationships with guests and teammates.

Responsibilities

• Lead from the floor, setting pace and energy for each shift.
• Own the guest experience from entry to departure.
• Partner with the General Manager to maintain daily operations and standards.
• Coach and support Front of House team with feedback and recognition.
• Create an environment where guests feel welcomed and staff enjoy coming to work.
• Maintain flow of communication between Front of House and Heart of House during busy services.
• Make real-time decisions to resolve issues and turn guest concerns into positives.
• Assist with scheduling, inventory, supplies, labor, and operational details.
• Champion food safety, responsible alcohol service, allergen awareness, and cleanliness.

We're looking for a Restaurant Manager who thrives on the floor, loves the energy of service, and believes hospitality is something you create, not just something you provide. The Gig (aka What You’ll Actually Be Doing)

• Lead from the floor, setting the pace, energy, and standard for every shift.
• Own the guest experience from the moment guests walk through the door until they leave already planning their next visit.
• Partner with the General Manager to keep daily operations running smoothly while maintaining high standards for service, hospitality, and culture.
• Coach, develop, and support Front of House team members through consistent feedback, accountability, and recognition.
• Create an environment where people enjoy coming to work and guests genuinely feel welcomed.
• Keep communication flowing between the Front and Heart of House so service feels seamless, even during the busiest nights.
• Make thoughtful decisions in real time, resolve challenges with confidence, and turn guest concerns into positive experiences.
• Help manage scheduling, inventory, supplies, labor, and operational details without losing sight of hospitality.
• Champion food safety, responsible alcohol service, allergen awareness, and cleanliness as non-negotiables.

Requirements

LET’S SET EXPECTATIONS (IN A GOOD WAY)

This is a fast-paced restaurant where every shift is different. You'll spend most of your time on your feet, moving throughout the restaurant, supporting the team, connecting with guests, and keeping service running smoothly.

You’ll regularly stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, bend, reach, navigate tight spaces, and actively participate in daily operations. We're committed to providing reasonable accommodations to enable qualified individuals to perform the essential functions of the role.
