Summary of Position

Prepares menu items according to company policies, procedures, programs, and performance standards. Maintains food costs and cleanliness of the kitchen at all times. Performs duties to maximize guest satisfaction and work environment quality as directed by the Kitchen Manager or Manager on Duty.

Position Activities and Tasks
  • Prepares cooking items
  • Reports to work well-groomed, in a clean uniform, practicing good personal hygiene
  • Uses, maintains, and cleans all kitchen equipment and preparation areas
  • Stocks and rotates products to ensure freshness
  • Knows recipes, menu items, and prep procedures to ensure correct portions and quality
  • Prepares prep items per guest requests following food safety standards
  • Controls food costs and ensures proper portioning
  • Follows FIFO standards for product freshness
  • Maintains cleanliness of kitchen, prep areas, coolers, and storage
  • Follows safety and sanitation policies
  • Conducts line sweeps and maintains cleanliness throughout shift
  • Understands OSHA and health department standards
  • Cleans equipment and areas as directed
  • Identifies and corrects system issues to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Communicates with management about issues and proposes solutions
  • Assists team members with prep, dishwashing, and front-of-house cleanliness
  • Provides guest service in cooperation with front-of-house staff
