Job summary

Highgate Hotels is seeking a Hostperson responsible for prompt recognition and seating of guests in outlets and assisting servers to provide courteous service throughout the dining experience. You will also assist the cashier in collecting payments and maintaining accurate cashier reports, ensuring guest satisfaction and menu presentation quality across shifts.

Experience in hospitality and a High School diploma are preferred; the role involves opening/closing duties and maintaining standards

Qualifications

High School diploma and/or experience in a hotel or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

Greet and seat guests at appropriate tables in a timely manner.
Be attentive of guests’ needs and assist in providing a pleasant dining experience.
Assist cashier in collection of money or credit cards from guests and servers as needed.
Know how to prepare cashier reports at the end of the shift.
Pay out servers’ and service attendants’ tips if appropriate.
Know how to properly take reservations for outlets.
Ensure quality control of menus with regard to cleanliness and appearance.
Perform opening and closing duties according to sidework checklist.
Answer the telephone according to standards.
Have knowledge of standards for receiving a room service order.
Know and understand state liquor laws.
Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
