Job summary

Collective Hospitality Group seeks a Restaurant Host / Shift Lead in Miami Beach. This full-time, on-site role welcomes guests, manages reservations, and maintains smooth seating flow. Responsibilities

Role Description

The Restaurant Host / Shift Lead is a full-time, on-site role based in Miami Beach, FL, responsible for welcoming guests, managing reservations and waitlists, and ensuring a smooth seating flow throughout service. This role oversees the front-of-house floor during shifts, supports servers and bartenders, and helps resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally. The Host / Shift Lead coordinates table turns, monitors guest experience from arrival to departure, and communicates effectively with the kitchen and bar teams. Additional responsibilities include assisting in training new front-of-house team members, supporting sales initiatives such as specials and promotions, and maintaining cleanliness and organization of the host stand and entry areas. This position may also help with basic opening and closing procedures, including shift reports and handoffs to management.

Qualifications
  • Strong Communication and Customer Service skills to engage guests, manage inquiries, and handle issues with professionalism.
  • Experience in Training and team support, including coaching new staff and reinforcing service standards on the floor.
  • Knowledge of Food & Beverage operations, including menu familiarity, seating strategies, and coordination with kitchen and bar.
  • Sales-oriented mindset, with the ability to promote specials, upsell experiences, and support revenue goals.
  • Previous front-of-house restaurant or hospitality experience, preferably in a host, shift lead, or supervisory role.
  • Ability to stand and move for extended periods and work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Reliable time management, attention to detail, and the ability to stay calm and organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional hospitality training or certifications are a plus.
