The Chalkboard is an upscale casual restaurant and lounge located in the Ambassador Hotel Tulsa. The General Manager of the Chalkboard sets and achieves the highest standards in all areas of restaurant operations, including the Team Member experience, Guest experience, and financial results. He/she oversees training and development of all restaurant Team Members and leads the way in providing exceptional food in a safe, clean, and inviting atmosphere.

Responsibilities
  • Manage P&L viability over the assigned location.
  • Manage reservation system, service flow, staff scheduling, and attendance.
  • Conduct staff briefings and be a subject matter expert on menu and guest information.
  • Identify talent, interview, hire, and onboard new team members.
  • Monitor staff performance, provide training, and develop team members for future growth.
  • Motivate and inspire the team, recognize performance, and address low performance.
  • Promote company mission and values, uphold service quality and guest satisfaction standards.
  • Ensure restaurant cleanliness and sanitation standards are met.
  • Maintain equipment safety and proper operation.
  • Handle cash and manage POS system functions.
  • Support marketing and promotional efforts.
  • Create schedules balancing financial needs and guest experience.
  • Approve payroll and perform managerial duties as needed.
  • Communicate regularly with the team and other management staff.
Qualifications
  • Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
  • Experience supervising staff in a high-volume environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of sanitation, computer operations, and inventory management.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Physical Demands
