Job summary

Goodfellas Pizzeria in Indianapolis is seeking a dynamic General Manager to oversee planning, training, staffing, and operational leadership to achieve objectives in sales, service, food quality and guest satisfaction.

You will ensure policy compliance, manage budgets, supervise kitchen and service teams, schedule staff, and drive continuous improvement while delivering an outstanding guest experience. This is a hands-on leadership role with opportunities for career growth.

Responsibilities

• Oversee, direct, and coordinate planning, organizing, training, and leadership to achieve objectives in sales, costs, employee retention, guest service and satisfaction, food quality, cleanliness and sanitation.
• Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the mission of Goodfellas Pizzeria and Wiseguy Lounge.
• Ensure restaurant policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, and training programs are followed and completed on time.
• Monitor health and fire regulations regarding food preparation and serving, and building maintenance.
• Control cash and other receipts by adhering to cash handling and reconciliation procedures.
• Count money and make bank deposits.
• Investigate and resolve complaints regarding food quality, service, or accommodations.
• Coordinate assignments of cooking personnel to ensure economical use of food and timely preparation.
• Review financial statements, sales activity reports, or other performance data to identify areas for cost reduction or improvement.
• Schedule and receive food and beverage deliveries, checking contents for quality and quantity.
• Monitor budgets and payroll records, and review financial transactions to ensure expenditures are authorized and budgeted.
• Maintain inventories and keep records.
• Schedule staff hours and assign duties.
• Establish standards for personnel performance and customer service.
• Perform some food preparation or service tasks when necessary.
• Plan menus and food utilization based on guest numbers, nutrition, palatability, popularity and costs.
• Record government-required sanitation or food subsidies records.
• Order and purchase equipment and supplies.
• Review work procedures to improve service, performance, or safety.
• Assess staffing needs and recruit staff.
• Coordinate with fellow employees to meet guests’ needs and support operations.
• Fill-in for fellow employees to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.
