Job description

Overview

The Restaurant General Manager plans and manages restaurant and other food and beverage outlets to achieve customer satisfaction, quality service, compliance with policies and regulations, and financial goals.

Responsibilities include managing the managerial team, resolving guest and associate issues, overseeing recognition and training programs, ensuring quality assurance, and managing budgets within forecasts.

  • Develop a culture of effective communication, service excellence, teamwork, and associate satisfaction.
  • Hire, mentor, and collaborate with recruiters to establish successful operations and achieve performance metrics.
  • Manage financial aspects responsibly, develop business plans and budgets, and forecast financial performance.
  • Drive guest satisfaction by maintaining service quality standards and implementing training programs.
  • Maintain proper asset and facility conditions, security, and cleanliness standards.
  • Ensure proper cash handling and adherence to SOPs and cash control procedures.
  • Engage with guests and staff through scheduled shifts, providing coaching and performance evaluations.
  • Enhance associate performance and morale through leadership and management practices.
  • Collaborate with corporate support teams to maximize outlet performance.
  • Provide regular updates to the Director of Food & Beverage on performance and department issues.
Qualifications

Requires advanced knowledge of food and beverage management, strong communication and leadership skills, and proficiency in computer applications like Excel, Word, Project, and Visio. Must have a positive attitude, work ethic, and flexibility to work weekends and holidays.

  • Minimum five years of experience in a high-volume restaurant environment.
  • Good industry knowledge and experience in a corporate setting.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel.
Education

Experience in a corporate setting preferred; college or trade school education is a plus.

Skills

Knowledge of wine and wine training is desirable.
