Job summary

Fairmont Century Plaza is seeking a Restaurant General Manager for Birdie G’s, a newly opened venue in Century City, Los Angeles. You will lead all restaurant operations, ensuring exceptional guest service while driving revenue and maintaining brand standards.

The role requires minimum 3 years as GM in luxury dining, strong leadership, and a strategic mindset to manage budgets, menus, and staffing in a high-energy environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years leadership experience as a Restaurant GM in a luxury hotel or fine dining restaurant.
• Degree in Food Service/Hotel/Restaurant Management or related field preferred.
• Experience in a union environment is a plus.
• Thorough knowledge of wines, liquors, cocktails, and beverages.
• Able to work cohesively with restaurant team and food & beverage division.

Responsibilities

• Plan and direct all aspects of restaurant operations, upholding guest service standards and delivering unforgettable experiences.
• Position the restaurant as a top dining choice in Los Angeles and maintain brand standards.
• Manage menu knowledge, health and safety, and revenue targets including budgeting and cost control.
• Lead, train, and develop restaurant staff with clear performance expectations.

Restaurant General Manager

Birdie G’s is a stunning new restaurant opening in Century City, Los Angeles. Located directly across the street from CAA. Birdie G’s in the Fairmont Century Plaza is bringing the best of the original Birdie G’s from Santa Monica to the new licensed environment. With no details left out, guests can dine in the outdoor courtyard or private booths. Designed to be the beating heart of Century city, surrounded by offices full of the “industry’s” power players, Birdie G’s is set to retake its place in LA’s iconic restaurant scene.

What you will be doing:

• Plan and direct all aspects of the restaurant operations to include guest service standards and initiatives and create unforgettable experiences for our guests


• Ensure the restaurant is positionedas one of the top dining choices in Los Angeles


• Ensure food & beverage brand standards are maintained and have full knowledge of all restaurant menus


• Handle guest concerns and react quickly and professionally


• Achievefinancial targets through maximizing revenue and managing expenses and productivity; Develop and execute the strategic plan including budget administration and preparation, forecasting, profit and loss accountability, cost control and inventories


• Lead the department in all aspects, andensure service standards are followed though consistentperformance management of all restaurant colleagues through constant communication, training, development and follow up


• Monitor and assess service and satisfaction trends, evaluate and address issues and make improvements accordingly


• Improves service by communicating and assisting colleagues to understand guest needs, providing guidance, feedback, and individual coaching when needed


• Interview, select and train new colleagues


• Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation and alcohol awareness standards


• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

• Minimum 3years leadershipexperience as a Restaurant GMin a luxury hotel and/or fine dining restaurant


• Degree in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major is preferred


• Experience in a union environment preferred


• A thorough working knowledge of wines, liquors, cocktails and other beverages.


• Ability to work cohesively as part of the restaurant team and food andbeverage division


• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment


• Flexible schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when needed


• Ability to work effectively with programs including Microsoft Office, Open Table - Guest Centre, Avero Slingshot, Opera, Silverware and Revinate


• Excellent communication and organizational skills


• Entrepreneurial mindset with strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
