Job summary

Café Yumm! PSU Rec Center in Portland, OR is seeking part-time Restaurant Crew Members to deliver healthy, flavorful food on the PSU campus. Daytime availability (11am–2pm) Mon–Thurs is required; those with open schedules will be given preference.

Starting pay is $17.93/hour plus $4.97/hour in tips, with a healthy shift meal, 20% discount at Café Yumm!, sick leave, EAP, 401k with up to 4% match, and subsidized training and certification. Discretionary bonuses are available.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Possess or obtain Oregon Food Handler’s Permit.
• Sufficient command of English to read POS system.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience as server, cook, cashier, host, or related role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Learn all restaurant stations (cashier, deluxe bar, dishwasher, expeditor, food prep, grill/salads, starts/hot bar).
• Maintain high standards of food preparation and cleanliness.
• Provide service that is remarkable, memorable, fun, and informative.

We have part-time openings for food service Restaurant Crew Members at Café Yumm! PSU Rec Center along the MAX Green and Yellow lines on the Portland State University Campus in Portland, OR.

Consideration will only be given to those with daytime availability (at least 11am-2pm) Mon-Thurs. Those with open availability will be given preference.

• Starting base wage $17.93/hour plus $4.97/hour in tips (based on a 12-month average of hourly tips from 4/1/2025-3/31/2026).

Job Requirements:

• 16 years of age or older.
• Possess “can do” attitude.
• Arrive on time for every shift.
• Sufficient command of the English language to be able to read and understand the POS system.

Education and Experience:

• Possess or be able to obtain a valid Oregon Food Handler’s Permit.
• Possession of either a High School Diploma or GED Certificate is preferred.
• Experience as a server, cook, cashier, host, or equivalent related experience is preferred.
