Job summary

Vail Resorts in Colorado is seeking a Mountain Dining Reservationist to manage guest dining reservations across mountain dining venues by phone and computer systems. You will document guest preferences, verify details, and ensure a seamless visit for every guest.

The role starts at $20.00–$23.00 per hour, Winter Seasonal 2026/2027, with full and part-time hours available. The position requires strong communication, multitasking, and the ability to work weekends and holidays in a resort setting.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in customer service, reservations, hospitality, or call centers preferred.
  • Proficient with reservation software and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Accept, manage, and confirm dining reservations by phone, email, and online systems.
  • Document guest preferences, dates, times, seating requests, and dietary restrictions.
  • Coordinate transportation arrangements to remote dining venues.
  • Provide information on locations, menus, hours, and events.
  • Handle guest inquiries and reservation modifications with professionalism.
  • Maintain accurate reservation records and maximize dining capacity.
  • Collaborate with restaurant, transportation, and operations teams for seamless service.

The Mountain Dining Reservationist is responsible for managing guest dining reservations for mountain dining venues through phone and computer-based reservation systems. This role delivers exceptional guest service by accurately documenting and fulfilling dining preferences, accommodating special requests, answering questions about dining experiences, and ensuring guests have all necessary information for a seamless visit. The Reservationist may also assist with coordinating transportation to remote mountain dining locations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Accept, manage, and confirm dining reservations via telephone, email, and computerized reservation systems.
  • Accurately document guest information, including preferred dining dates, times, seating requests, special occasions, dietary restrictions, and accessibility needs.
  • Coordinate and communicate transportation arrangements for guests traveling to remote mountain dining venues.
  • Provide comprehensive information about mountain dining locations, menus, hours of operation, transportation options, policies, and special events.
  • Respond professionally and efficiently to guest inquiries, concerns, and reservation modifications.
  • Maintain accurate reservation records and ensure all guest requests are communicated to the appropriate dining venue teams.
  • Monitor reservation availability and assist in maximizing dining capacity while maintaining an exceptional guest experience.
  • Collaborate with restaurant, transportation, and operations teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Handle high call volumes while maintaining a positive, guest-focused attitude.
  • Follow company policies, service standards, and data privacy requirements when handling guest information.

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous customer service, reservations, hospitality, restaurant, or call center experience preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with reservation software, computer systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to remain professional and courteous in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
  • Exceptional guest service and hospitality skills.
  • Ability to answer frequently asked questions and provide accurate information regarding mountain dining experiences.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of dining operations, transportation logistics, and resort services is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer workstation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively by phone and in person.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.

Working Conditions:

The expected pay range is$20.00/hr - $23.00/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
