Who We Are

At Author & Edit, we create original hospitality experiences designed to be remembered and talked about. Our approach is rooted in constant evolution, always refining and reimagining what hospitality can be. We don't follow industry standards; we set them.

Founded by visionary restaurateur Sam Fox, Author & Edit is built on the idea that great hospitality is something you write, not replicate. From standout concepts like The Global Ambassador, named Travel + Leisure's No. 1 Resort in Arizona in 2026, awarded One MICHELIN Key, and recognized by Condé Nast Traveler as a top "Best Hotel," to The Twelve Thirty Club and a growing portfolio of hotels and restaurants, we're shaping experiences that push the industry forward.

With multiple new projects currently under construction and an expanding presence, this is a unique opportunity to be part of a company in active growth. You'll work closely with leadership, collaborate with a passionate team, and play a role in building what's next in hospitality. If you're looking to grow your career while contributing to something innovative, dynamic, and continually evolving-this is where it happens.

What You'll Do

The Restaurant Chef is responsible for the day-to-day culinary operations of the restaurant. You'll provide hands-on leadership to the culinary team and create a culture focused on excellence, teamwork, and exceptional hospitality. You'll ensure consistent food quality, presentation, safety, and sanitation while managing food costs and kitchen operations. You'll help develop menus, maintain culinary standards, train and develop team members, and identify opportunities to improve the guest experience.

Who You Are

  • Bring 5+ years of restaurant management experience in a high-volume, luxury hospitality environment, ideally overseeing large scale operations.

  • Lead and inspire a team of colleagues, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, collaboration, and genuine hospitality.

  • Demonstrate strong business acumen, with a solid understanding of restaurant operations, financial performance, labor, cost controls, and profitability.

  • Own daily shift operations, including staffing, scheduling, planning, prioritization, and real-time decision-making.

  • Demonstrate strong culinary knowledge, including an understanding of flavors, aromas, ingredients, seasonality, and food quality.

  • Maintain the highest standards of product quality, presentation, service, and restaurant cleanliness.

  • Thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, remaining calm, composed, and solutions-oriented under pressure.

  • Handle unexpected guest requests and operational challenges with confidence, poise, and sound judgment.

  • Demonstrate proficiency with POS and reservation platforms, including OpenTable and other digital dining and reservation technologies.

  • Coach, mentor, and develop colleagues through clear expectations, meaningful feedback, recognition, and ongoing training.

  • Champion continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to elevate service, operational efficiency, team performance, and the overall guest experience.
