Job summary

Velvet Taco is seeking dedicated Counter Servers at our Montrose location in Houston. You’ll greet guests warmly, take orders, process payments, and ensure accurate handling of dine-in, to-go, and call-in orders.

Join a team that loves tacos and a fast-paced vibe, with flexible schedules, tips, and growth opportunities. Prior experience is a plus, and food/beverage certifications are welcomed.

Qualifications

• Customer-focused service in a fast-paced setting.

• Willingness to work flexible shifts including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Greet Guests with a warm smile and positive attitude.
• Take orders using Velvet Taco service steps and input into POS.
• Ensure all dine-in, takeout and call-in orders are properly rung up.
• Handle cash, credit card and gift card transactions securely.
• Verify identification before serving alcohol per state law.
• Maintain a clean, sanitized service area and pace during shifts.
• Know all menu items and assist guests with recommendations.

Essential Functions

• Enthusiastically greets every Guest with a smile and positive attitude
• Take Guests' order using the Velvet Taco steps of service
• Ensure dine-in, to-go and call-in orders are properly rung up in the POS
• Handle all cash, credit card and gift card transactions
• Check identification before serving alcohol according to state law
• Maintain a clean, sanitized service area
• Have full knowledge of all food & beverage menu items
• Maintain a driven, intense pace with good cleaning habits throughout shift
• Other functions as assigned by management
