Job description

Position Summary

The Bartender understands and follows alcohol serving laws. They prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages while interacting with customers, taking and serving food as necessary. The Bartender maintains a clean and sanitized environment.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

1. Follow recipes to appropriately prepare cocktails and other drinks, including adding garnishes.
2. Serve members and customers in a timely manner, including checking identification, accepting payment, and answering questions.
3. Maintain cleanliness by cleaning bar surfaces, furniture, and equipment, and returning used dishware to the bar/kitchen.
4. Maintain supplies by re-stocking liquors, wines, beers, and non-alcoholic ingredients, and replacing beer barrels.
5. Reconcile the bar's cash register at the end of each shift.

Position Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1 to 2 years of bartending experience
• Certified to serve alcohol
• CPR/AED certification required within the first 30 days of hire
• Ability to routinely and repetitively bend to lift more than 20 lbs.
• Ability to work in a stationary position and move about the Cafe for prolonged periods.

Preferred Requirements

• Experience with inventory management and ordering

Pay

This is an hourly position with wages starting at $13.25 and up to $15.75, based on experience and qualifications.
