Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and adaptable individual to fill a unique hybrid role as a Line Cook, Kitchen Attendant, and Bartender at Malibu Jack's. This multifaceted position involves preparing and cooking food, maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, and providing excellent customer service as a bartender. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment, delivering high-quality food and beverages while ensuring a fun and safe experience for all guests.

Key Responsibilities:
Line Cook Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and Cook Food: Follow recipes and cooking instructions to prepare and cook a variety of food items, such as burgers, fries, pizzas, and other menu items, ensuring taste, presentation, and quality.
  • Maintain Food Safety Standards: Ensure proper handling, storage, and sanitation of food items, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
  • Food Plating & Assembly: Assemble and plate food items in a visually appealing manner, ensuring all orders are completed accurately and promptly.
  • Monitor Kitchen Equipment: Operate kitchen appliances and tools efficiently while maintaining cleanliness and ensuring safety at all times.
  • Kitchen Organization & Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, including dishwashing, wiping down surfaces, cleaning equipment, and ensuring a safe and sanitary environment.
  • Stocking & Inventory: Assist with inventory management by restocking kitchen supplies, organizing food storage, and ensuring all ingredients are properly stored.
  • Dispose of Trash: Empty trash and recycling bins regularly and ensure proper disposal of waste materials.
  • Serve Drinks: Serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to the menu and customer preferences.
  • Customer Interaction: Provide friendly, engaging, and professional customer service, ensuring guests have a positive experience while visiting the bar.
  • Handle Cash and Payments: Process transactions, handle cash, credit cards, and tips, and provide receipts to customers.
  • Maintain Bar Area: Keep the bar clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Verify Customer Age: Check IDs to ensure customers are of legal drinking age.
Qualifications:
  • Previous Experience: At least 1 year of experience in a fast-paced kitchen, bartending, or food service role, ideally with experience in both cooking and bartending.
  • Customer Service Skills: Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide outstanding service to customers while multitasking.
  • Multitasking Ability: Ability to efficiently balance responsibilities as a cook, kitchen attendant, and bartender in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
  • Knowledge of Food Safety: Understanding of food safety standards and sanitation practices. ServSafe certification is a plus.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, move, and lift during long shifts, and work in a hot, fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with other kitchen and bar staff to provide excellent service.
  • Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years old for bartending duties.
Physical Demands:

Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

Able to lift up to 40 lbs unaided.
