Job summary

McAlister’s Deli in a South Carolina location is seeking an Assistant Manager to partner with the Restaurant Manager to drive profitability and guest satisfaction. You will lead a team, monitor costs, and promote a friendly, inclusive dining experience for every guest.

The role requires at least 1 year in a casual restaurant setting, a high school diploma (GED acceptable), and a ServSafe license (or ability to obtain one).

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year experience in casual restaurant industry.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• ServSafe License preferred, or able to obtain a State-approved license – must be maintained per State Mandates.
• Strong knowledge of team leadership, developing goals and action plans for personal/professional growth.
• Availability to work within open hours (e.g. evenings, holidays, weekends).
• Maintain a well-groomed appearance and follow uniform standards.
• Remain calm in a fast-paced atmosphere and demonstrate a high level of organization, attention to detail, and a sense of urgency.
• Display a positive and outwardly friendly attitude towards all guests – Live the McAlister’s Touch.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to withstand the physical demands a restaurant environment holds.

Responsibilities

• As an Assistant Manager, you’ll partner with the Restaurant Manager to run a profitable, well-operated restaurant. You’ll help control costs, build sales, and maximize profits while ensuring great customer service, strong team performance, and a professional restaurant environment.
• You will help lead daily operations, ensure staff adherence to standards, and support scheduling, training, and guest satisfaction initiatives.
