Rubio’s Coastal Grill is seeking an Assistant Manager to oversee daily restaurant operations, support the General Manager, manage team development, and ensure guest satisfaction. The role emphasizes financial accountability, safety, and adherence to Rubio’s standards.

Responsibilities include budgeting, staff scheduling, coaching employees, and maintaining service quality. The ideal candidate will have restaurant supervisory experience and strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Education: High School degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience: Minimum of one-year restaurant or retail experience. Restaurant management experience preferred.
• Knowledge: Knowledge of all management aspects in the restaurant industry.
• Language Skills: Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, clearly communicating operational concerns with management and co-workers.
• Math Skills: Basic mathematical principles; ability to perform basic financial computations.
• Other: A valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance; reliable transportation; accept assignments anywhere in the district.
• Other Abilities: Patience, teamwork, leadership, ability to handle multiple priorities, attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assists in controlling the P&L and ensures goals meet budget.
• Analyzes local trade area and builds business with the community.
• Manages vendor efficiency and quality standards.
• Interacts with Guests, resolves complaints, coaches team for service excellence.
• Interviews, hires, evaluates, promotes and documents personnel; schedules staff.
• Directs and coaches team in policy adherence and performance management.
• Communicates operational information to staff and management.
• Participates in development through ongoing training.
• Ensures food safety and inventory control; rotates stock during delivery and prep.
• Counts and deposits money; manages cash handling procedures.
• Ensures policies are followed and reports progress to management.
• Maintains staffing levels and supports GM in executing goals.
