Job summary

Omnes Healthcare is seeking an experienced Respiratory Nurse to join our primary care team. Based in a GP surgery, you will manage patients with respiratory long-term conditions, especially asthma and COPD, and contribute to a range of treatment room duties while delivering safe, patient-centred care.

The role emphasizes respiratory reviews, clinical autonomy, and a supportive, forward-thinking environment within a NHS Primary/Secondary care framework.

Qualifications

  • Relevant Nursing Degree
  • Current NMC registration with an active PIN
  • COPD Diploma

Responsibilities

  • Managing and treating patients with respiratory long-term conditions, focusing on asthma and COPD.
  • Undertaking comprehensive asthma and COPD reviews, including care planning, inhaler technique education, and self-management support.
  • Supporting the management of patients with co-morbidities, including hypertension and other chronic diseases where appropriate.
  • Implementing vaccination and immunisation programmes for adults and children, including influenza, Covid-19, RSV, shingles, and pneumococcal vaccines; childhood and travel vaccinations.
  • Undertaking treatment room duties: wound care, dressings, injections, and suture removal; providing home visits for housebound patients requiring respiratory LTC support.
  • Raising safeguarding concerns in line with local and national guidance; maintaining a clean, safe clinical environment in line with infection prevention and control standards.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced and motivatedRespiratory Nurseto join our established primary care team and be part of an organisation that truly makes a difference to patients' lives.

You will be based within our GP surgery and will play a key role in the management of patients withrespiratory long-term conditions, particularlyasthma and COPD. While the role is predominantly focused on respiratory reviews, the ideal candidate will also be confident in undertaking a range oftreatment room duties, supporting the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centred care.

This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse with strong respiratory expertise who values continuity of care, clinical autonomy, and working within a supportive, forward-thinking primary care environment.

Job Responsibilities
  • Managing and treating patients withrespiratory long-term conditions, with a particular focus onasthma and COPD.
  • Undertaking comprehensiveasthma and COPD reviews, including care planning, inhaler technique education, and self-management support.
  • Supporting the management of patients with co-morbidities, including hypertension and other chronic diseases where appropriate.
  • Implementing and participating invaccination and immunisation programmesfor adults and children, including:
  • - Influenza, Covid-19, RSV, shingles, and pneumococcal vaccinations
  • - Childhood immunisations and travel vaccinations
  • - Undertakingtreatment room duties, including wound care, dressings, injections, and suture removal.
  • - Providinghome visitsfor housebound patients requiring respiratory long-term condition support.
  • - Raising safeguarding concerns in line with local and national guidance.
  • - Maintaining a clean, safe clinical environment in line withinfection prevention and controlstandards.
Experience
  • Experience of working inprimary careor respiratory care in a hospital or community setting
  • Proven experience inasthma and COPD management
Qualifications
