Job summary

Riverside Community Care in Upton, MA is seeking a Respite Counselor for weekend shifts in an acute care residence. The role includes providing guidance, supervision, and direct supports to help consumers maintain health and develop skills for independent living.

Part-time 16 hours with two weekend scheduling options (Sat 7am-3pm or 3pm-11pm). Requires a high school diploma with experience or higher degrees, good communication, teamwork, and a valid driver's license; benefits include healthcare

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate degree with 1 year of related experience, or HS diploma with 3 years of related experience.
• Ability to communicate in English and document progress clearly.
• Ability to work in a team and also independently.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle

Respite Counselor will provide guidance, education, supervision, and direct supports to allow consumers to maintain their physical and emotional health, live safely in the community and develop the skills necessary to return to independent living. Interactions between staff and consumers will be guided by an appreciation for those being served as unique individuals and adults, with the expectation and goal of crisis or situational stabilization.

The Respite programs provide both short and long-term care for persons experiencing mental health, substance use disorder, and co-occurring disorders who might otherwise require treatment in an inpatient setting and would benefit from structured stabilization, support, care coordination, and treatment planning.

Schedule

Part Time, 16 hours with 2 scheduling options available!

Schedule Option 1

• Saturday and Sunday - 7am to 3pm

Schedule Option 2

• Saturday and Sunday - 3pm to 11pm

Pay Rate:

differentials available!

• $21.21/hour High School Diploma
• $22.27/hour with a Bachelor’s Degree
