Job summary

UofL Health is seeking an Intern, Respiratory Care to join the pediatric and adult care teams at Louisville location. You'll support routine respiratory services under supervision, administer therapies, monitor patients and assist with procedures in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.

Requirements include completion of at least one year of an accredited respiratory therapy program with a 2.0 GPA and current BLS certification. Kentucky license eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• Must complete the equivalent of one year of an accredited respiratory therapy program with a minimum GPA of 2.0.
• Must remain in good standing and maintain GPA 2.0 during internship.
• Clinical rotation experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administers non-medicated aerosol and humidity therapy.
• Administers oxygen therapy (protocol where appropriate).
• Administers aerosolized medication.
• Administers incentive spirometry.
• Cleans and reprocesses respiratory therapy equipment.
• Administers bronchial hygiene and chest physiotherapy.
• Performs CPR and manual ventilation during resuscitation attempts and assists in rapid response calls.
• Performs electrocardiogram (ECG).
