Job summary

Abington Memorial Hospital is seeking a Respiratory Equipment Clerk to ensure equipment is properly processed and kept in working order. The role involves inventory control, distribution of portable oxygen cylinders, and adherence to infection control policies.

The position supports the Respiratory Care team and requires interaction with staff, patients, and visitors in line with hospital values. A high school diploma is required, with preferred associate degree and enrollment in a respiratory

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree or equivalent is desirable.
• Current enrollment in an accredited respiratory program is required.
• Experience in materials handling or equipment servicing and/or patient contact is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Ensure respiratory equipment is processed and in operational order.
• Maintain inventory of supplies, parts, and medications related to respiratory care.
• Distribute portable oxygen cylinders to designated patient care areas.
• Disassemble, wash, disinfect, sterilize, and reassemble respiratory equipment per policy.
• Maintain proper inventory levels of consumables, parts, and gases.
• Supervise storeroom, pharmacy, and vendor interactions.
• Maintain equipment such as ventilators, compressors, and flowmeters to meet demand.
• Interact professionally with staff, visitors, and patients in line with hospital values.
