Job summary

Riverside Health System in Newport News, VA seeks an RT Clinical Specialist to serve as an on-site liaison and education resource. You will orient and continuously educate team members, schedule in-services and onboarding, and chair key committees while supporting safe practice aligned with safety goals and AARC guidance.

You will assess and implement respiratory care plans, document orders, and collaborate with physicians and nurses to evaluate progress and outcomes for patients.

Qualifications

• 3-4 years Respiratory Care experience required.
• NBRC RCP certification upon hire required.
• CPR/BLS certification upon hire required.
• RRT certification upon hire required.
• ACLS provider upon hire required.
• PALS provider preferred; NRP preferred.
• RHS Advanced Airway Management within 1-1/2 years required.

Responsibilities

• Acts as on-site resource and liaison with other departments.
• Coordinates staff orientation, education, in-services and onboarding.
• Assists in competency evaluations.
• Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals and AARC best practices.
• Assess, diagnose, implement, and evaluate Respiratory Care plans.
• Complete documentation and manage orders as current or closed.
• Collaborate with physicians and nurses to develop treatment plans.
