Job summary

CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join a dedicated cardiopulmonary care team. You will deliver breathing treatments, manage ventilators, provide oxygen therapy, and support external ventilation in both routine and emergent situations.

You will apply assessment skills and critical thinking to develop effective care plans and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team. A sign-on bonus up to $10,000 is available for eligible shifts.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Respiratory.
• Must have an unencumbered license to practice in the State of Arkansas.
• Registry Required.
• BLS and ACLS from American Heart Association is required.
• Successful completion of the NBRC examination for Registered Respiratory Therapist.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and evaluates existing data in patient’s record. Collects any additional pertinent clinical information through physical examination and bedside parameters.
• Performs and evaluates peak flows/Spirometry before and after bronchodilators according to policy and orders.
• Completes thorough assessment of patients.
• Communicates all critical information to physicians, nurses, and others on an inter-disciplinary patient care team.
• Proactive in initiating Ventilator Discontinuation. Follows all policies on documentation, ET tube care, and other Ventilator Bundle guidelines.
