Job summary

CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs in Hot Springs, AR is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join an established team delivering highly specialized cardiopulmonary care.

You will perform treatments from breathing techniques and nebulizer treatments to ventilator management, oxygen therapies, and external ventilation support, applying assessment skills to develop care plans and ensuring calm, focused intervention. Ideal candidates will have AR, RRT, NBRC certification/examination completion, and BLS/ACLS

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Respiratory Therapy and successful NBRC exam completion, on hire.
• Respiratory Care Practitioner: AR
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Responsibilities

• Reviews and evaluates patient data and physical examination findings.
• Performs peak flows and Spirometry before and after bronchodilators per policy.
• Completes thorough patient assessments and communicates critical information to the care team.
• Initiates ventilator discontinuation when appropriate and adheres to ventilation bundle guidelines.

• CLINICAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Reviews and evaluates existing data in patient’s record. Collects any additional pertinent clinical information through physical examination and bedside parameters.
• Performs and evaluates peak flows/Spirometry before and after bronchodilators according to policy and orders.
• Completes thorough assessment of patients.
• Communicates all critical information to physicians, nurses, and others on an inter-disciplinary patient care team.
• Proactive in initiating Ventilator Discontinuation. Follows all policies on documentation, ET tube care, and other Ventilator Bundle guidelines.

• Associates Other Respiratory Therapy and Successful completion of the NBRC examination for Registered Respiratory Therapist., upon hire and
• Respiratory Care Practitioner: AR
• Registered Respiratory Therapist
• Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 Days
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 30 Days

Preferred

• Bachelors Other Respiratory Therapy

Pay Range

$26.70 - $39.71 /hour
