Job summary

City Scape Rehabilitation and Care Center is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to assess residents' respiratory status, develop personalized plans, and administer therapies in a skilled nursing environment. You will collaborate with medical staff to optimize lung function and prevent complications for our residents.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program.
• Valid state license to practice as a Respiratory Therapist.
• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred.
• Experience in a long-term care or nursing home setting desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with compassionate patient care.
• Ability to work effectively in a healthcare team and independently.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) and documentation.
• New graduates are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of residents’ respiratory status, including medical history review and physical examinations.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on residents’ needs and protocols.
• Administer respiratory therapies (Acapella, Incentive Spirometry, EZPAP, Chest Physiotherapy) to promote lung function.
• Monitor residents’ responses to treatment and adjust care plans with the medical staff.
• Educate residents and families about respiratory health and treatment options.
• Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, treatments, and progress notes in medical records.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss resident care and care strategies.
• Ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness of respiratory equipment following infection control protocols.
• Stay current with best practices in respiratory therapy and pursue ongoing professional development.
