Job summary

Qualifications

• Background check, fingerprints, TB test, physical required.
• HBV vaccination not required but suggested and available.
• Regular, reliable, and punctual attendance required.
• Active license in good standing; facility ventilator class completion.
• Ability to speak Spanish or another non-English language is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate respiratory care equipment for diagnosis and treatment in the sub-acute unit.
• Explain treatments, tests and equipment to residents carrying out physician orders.
• Administer prescribed therapies via IPPB, oxygen devices, nebulizers and humidifiers.
• Perform chest PT and suctioning to mobilize secretions and clear airways.
• Set up and monitor ventilators and ensure ventilation during CPR as needed.
• Maintain daily ventilator monitoring and weaning logs; document treatments and responses.
• Record arterial blood gases and patient conditions in charts.
• Assist with patient transfers and position residents for care.
• Inspect and test respiratory equipment for safety and efficiency.
• Collaborate with nursing staff and coordinators to plan care.
