Job description

Overview

This position involves patient care in critical care, step-down, and general care areas.

Qualifications

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required:
Education: HS/GED required. Must be licensed by the ASBRT and credentialed by the NBRC. Minimum certification as a Certified Respiratory Therapist; Registered Respiratory Therapist is preferred. PALS and ACLS certifications are preferred; these are mandatory within one year of employment. BLS certification is preferred for hiring and mandatory after the orientation period.
Experience: Clinical experience during respiratory training, capable of functioning in critical settings including initiation and support of mechanical ventilation. Experience with intubation and transport is preferred.
Additional Skills/Abilities: Excellent communication skills required. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing and adapting tasks quickly. Capable of performing procedures related to EKG, Bronchial Hygiene, Oxygen Therapy, Respiratory Diagnostics, and Mechanical Ventilation. Weekend and holiday rotations may be required.
