Job summary

The Laurels of Walden Park in Columbus, OH is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RT) to support patients on the Ventilation Unit. This role emphasizes careful assessment, patient-centered care, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team during all phases of treatment.

Qualifications

• Certified RT.
• Long-term care facility experience desired.

Responsibilities

• Provides routine clinical care including ventilator checks, tracheostomy care, suctioning, resident evaluations, care plan development, respiratory medication delivery, supply changes and equipment management.
• Treat residents according to the physician treatment plan.
• Communicate with physician, supervisor, and other team membersregarding resident progress, problems, and plans.
• Instruct residents’ families and/or nursing staff in maintenance, routine or restorative programs.
• Initiates, monitors, and maintains life support systems.
• Monitors outcomes of various respiratory care procedures.
• Establishes and maintains respiratory equipment par-level and required maintenance records.
• Conducts quality assurance audits andquality control monitoring.
