The Respiratory Therapist (RT) Senior provides expert respiratory care and serves as a clinical resource and mentor within the department. The RT Senior practices independently across multiple specialty areas and supports evidence-based initiatives that improve patient outcomes and enhance quality and safety. This role integrates advanced clinical skills, education, and quality improvement to support professional development, optimize care delivery, and promote collaboration across the interdisciplinary team.
EDUCATION: Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy/Care
EXPERIENCE: Six (6) years of experience delivering respiratory therapy or respiratory care, including at least three (3) years of neonatal and pediatric experience
CERTIFICATION(S):
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
Registered or Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (RPFT or CPFT) by the NBRC required only if performing pulmonary function diagnostic testing.
Neonatal/Pediatric Respiratory Care Specialist (NPS) by the NBRC.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Safety and Health Institute accepted) with at least 6 months remaining before expiration.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
LICENSURE(S): State of Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) Respiratory Therapist license
PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIP(S): Active membership in the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC).
Hourly Range: $38.34 to $57.52
