Professional Resource Team (PNRT) RRTs are responsible for providing safe, continuous quality patient care in a variety of settings. They are part of a market-based respiratory resource team assigned across multiple facilities within the Greater Charlotte (GCM) market, working in 5 or more locations. These RRTs demonstrate independence, rule consciousness, social boldness, and change readiness, and uphold professional respiratory standards and inter-professional collaboration. They are early adopters of Novant Health systems, technology, and workflows, committed to improving community health through innovation and research, providing high-quality, affordable healthcare, and supporting their workforce.

Responsibilities

Every team member at Novant Health is responsible for delivering a remarkable patient experience.

  • Act as a patient advocate, incorporating education into the interdisciplinary care plan.
  • Prioritize duties based on patient needs and acuity, ensuring timely care interventions and medical orders.
  • Administer and evaluate medication therapies, perform patient transfers, and transport patients.
  • Assess patient needs and provide routine respiratory care (e.g., ABGs, bronchial hygiene therapy) and higher-level care in critical situations.
  • Demonstrate independence in respiratory care practices, adhering to state requirements and standards.
  • Critical Care Specific: Ventilator management, code blue response, airway management, blood gas analysis interpretation, and protocol adherence.
