Vibra Permanent Staffing is seeking experienced and dedicated Respiratory Therapists RT (RRT/CRT) for a full-time, direct hire opportunity with our trusted Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) partner in Charlotte, NC. Join a specialized team providing life-changing care to high-acuity patients recovering from complex medical conditions.
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Manager and/or Lead Respiratory Therapist, and upon physician request, set up and operate various respiratory care equipment for diagnosis and treatment of respiratory diseases.
Certificates and Licenses:
- Licensed as a Respiratory Practitioner by the state of employment.
- Must have BLS at hire and obtain ACLS within 90 days.
- Maintain licenses and certifications throughout employment.
Essential Job Functions
- Provide care for adult and geriatric patients (18+ years).
- Respect patient rights, dignity, and individuality in all interactions.
- Explain treatments, tests, and equipment to patients; document education provided.
- Perform physician-prescribed treatments, including nebulizer therapy, oxygen delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
- Set up, operate, and monitor ventilators; participate in ventilator weaning protocols.
- Maintain ventilation during CPR; perform intubations as needed.
- Record treatments and patient responses accurately; document in charts and MARs.
- Perform trach care, tube changes, and document accordingly.
- Manage respiratory equipment, including cleaning, sterilizing, and preparing scopes.
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment; document checks.
- Conduct regular rounds to monitor ventilator and oxygen equipment; refill humidifiers and change suction canisters.
- Perform diagnostic studies, including blood gas analysis, demonstrating competency and maintaining ongoing education.
- Assist in preparing patients for therapy, ambulation, and transport; store oxygen tanks per safety guidelines.
- Participate in departmental meetings and in-services.
Standard Duties
