Job summary

Citrus Post Acute in Santa Ana, CA is seeking a Per-Diem Respiratory Therapist to join our 24-hour skilled nursing team, collaborating with the RT Lead and clinical staff to deliver patient respiratory care and to develop care plans for those recovering from surgery or illness.

Responsibilities include evaluating patients, delivering therapies (IPPB, aerosols, incentive spirometry), running diagnostic tests, maintaining equipment, and responding to code blue calls as needed.

Qualifications

• RRT license active in CA.
• Skilled Nursing Facility experience preferred.
• BLS/ACLS/CPR certification required or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, treat, and care for patients with respiratory or cardiopulmonary disorders.
• Plan, prepare, and administer therapies including IPPB, aerosols, chest physiotherapy, incentive spirometry, and sputum inductions.
• Perform diagnostic pulmonary and cardiac tests and maintain RT equipment.
• Respond to code blue calls and assist with airway management and CPR.
• Document patient care promptly and accurately.

Citrus Post Acute is a 24-hour 144-bed skilled nursing facility located in the heart of Santa Ana, CA. Our team of dedicated healthcare professionals work to help patients recover from surgery, injury, and other short/long-term care.

We are on the search for a Per-Diem RT to join the team! The RT will be responsible for creating and implementing appropriate care plans along with the RT Lead and clinical team.

Pay Range:

$34-37/hour Depending on Experience

Overview of the Position:

The RT will evaluate, treat, and care for patients with breathing or other cardiopulmonary disorders. As the RT, you will be assuming primary responsibility for all respiratory care therapeutic treatments and diagnostic procedures.

Assesses patients and recommends respiratory therapy treatments

Plans, prepares and administers treatments including IPPB, aerosol, chest physical therapy, incentive spirometry, and sputum inductions, in accordance with established policies and procedures

Performs diagnostic pulmonary and cardiac tests

Inspects, tests, maintains and operates respiratory therapy equipment

Responds to “code blue” calls and assist by maintaining the patient’s airway and performs CPR

Patient care documentation is timely, legible, and efficient.
