Job summary

The Respiratory Therapist at Community Hospital Corporation provides direct and indirect nursing care for adult patients, from 18 through geriatric, under the supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Manager. They set up and operate respiratory care equipment used for diagnosis and treatment of respiratory disease and illness.

• Must be credentialed by The National Board of Respiratory Care as CRT or RRT.
• Must be licensed to practice in North Carolina.
• BLS/ACLS required.
• 3 to 5 years of working experience in acute care or critical care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate various respiratory care equipment for diagnosis and treatment.
• Conduct physician prescribed treatments such as Hand Held Nebulizer Therapy and nasal oxygen devices, delivering prescribed vapors and gases.
• Administer humidity, oxygen concentrations, and chest physical therapy as prescribed.
• Provide direct and indirect nursing care to patients aged 18 and older.

Job description

The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for the direct and indirect nursing care of all patients ranging in age from 18 years to geriatric. Under the supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Manager and upon request of the physician, Will sets up and operates various types of respiratory care equipment to be utilized in the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory disease and/or illness.

Conduct physician prescribed treatments: including but not limited to, Hand Held Nebulizer Therapy and various nasal oxygen devices in order to administer prescribed medicinal vapors and gases, humidity, various oxygen concentrations to the respiratory system of the patient, and chest physical therapy treatments.

Qualifications

• Must be Credentialed by The National Board of Respiratory Care as a CRT or RRT.
• Must be licensed to practice in North Carolina
• BLS/ACLS required.
• 3 to 5 years of working experience working in an acute care environment or, critical care experience preferred.
