Respiratory Therapist RRT Traveler, Nights

Position Overview

Location: Northwest Community Hospital – Arlington Heights, IL

Full Time: 36 hours/week

Hours: Nights, 7pm – 7am, Rotating Weekends

Responsibilities

• Perform and guide respiratory therapy, chest physical therapy, and diagnostics.
• Assess and treat patients from neonatal to geriatric, involving families in care plans.
• Administer respiratory therapies and understand associated equipment and risks.
• Provide advanced respiratory care, including airway management during CPR.
• Obtain and analyze blood gases, perform pulmonary function tests, and ensure quality control.
• Explain procedures to patients and staff, develop home care plans.
• Participate in ongoing education and collaborate with healthcare team for optimal patient care.
• Maintain accurate records and oversee equipment maintenance.
• Assist in departmental management in the absence of leadership.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an AMA-approved respiratory therapy program; eligible for NBRC exams.
• Current Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
• CPR certification.
• Knowledge of acid-base balance, blood gas analysis, and cardiopulmonary physiology.
