Qualifications

• NBRC-approved respiratory therapist program from an accredited institution.
• Registered by the NBRC as RRT.
• Current license as Registered Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers required.
• PALS, ACLS, NRP certifications may be required.
• Strong communication and patient-care collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Performs, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic testing per protocol.
• Obtains arterial gases and supports patient assessment.
• Operates and troubleshoots respiratory equipment for patient care.
• Implements respiratory protocols and timely interventions.
• Documents outcomes and communicates with care team.
• Participates in quality improvement and department meetings.
