  1. Utilize patient assessment skills, protocols, chart review, and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to determine therapy efficacy, making appropriate recommendations and adjustments per department protocol. Perform respiratory and oxygen delivery therapies, recommending the most efficient methods.
  2. Obtain, analyze, and report arterial blood gases and co-oximetry findings. Perform quality controls as needed. Set up and perform oximetry, apnea, TC, and ETCO2 monitoring as ordered by the physician.
  3. Initiate, maintain, transport, and monitor mechanical ventilators, including basic conventional modes of ventilation per policy. Review chest radiology reports as necessary.

Qualifications:

  1. Therapy required. AAS or AS degree required.
  2. Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required.
  3. BLS and ACLS certifications required.
  4. Graduate RRT with up to two years of acute care experience required.
  5. Current Florida State License as an RRT/Registered Respiratory Therapist.
  6. Current NBRC RRT credential.
