REGISTERED RESPIRATORY THERAPIST- PRN

Responsibilities

• Obtain data pertinent to therapy by chart review and physical exam.
• Maintain knowledge of oxygen delivery methods and equipment; assess side effects; administer respiratory treatments.
• Maintain asepsis with proper hand washing between patients.
• Follow sterilization procedures for equipment.
• Assess patient pain and make appropriate physician contact for intervention.
• Provide ventilatory management for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients.
• Respond to Code Blue situations and perform CPR as needed.
• Restock crash carts and exchange opened carts post-code.
• Use two patient identifiers on all patients.
• Document all patient data accurately in medical records.
• Communicate patient condition updates and transfer/discharge information.
• Share workload according to skill level.
• Set up and monitor mechanical ventilators and perform critical care duties.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited respiratory program with at least an associate degree.
• Current Oklahoma RCP license or Provisional letter.
• NBRC Registered (RRT) credentials.
• BLS certification.
• ALS and PALS certifications within six months of employment; annual re-certification.
• TEAM-de-escalation training within 6 months.
• NRP preferred.
• Some clinical experience preferred.
• Good communication skills.
• Typing and computer skills.
