Respiratory Therapist (RRT), Full-Time Nights

Join us as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT), Full-Time Nights at UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial.

This position offers a pay range of $41.00/hr - $54.00/hr, based on skills and experience. A $20,000 sign-on bonus is available for full-time positions.

Job Overview

Located in Harvey, Illinois, you will work with physicians and nursing staff to assess, implement, and perform respiratory care procedures for patients of all ages, from neonatal to adult. You will coordinate direct respiratory care, serve as a resource and mentor, and demonstrate proficiency in respiratory procedures and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain departmental productivity and efficient operations.
• Complete patient assignments timely with minimal assistance.
• Explain procedures to patients and families; maintain patient relationships during care.
• Follow proper identification procedures and read prescriptions to determine appropriate treatments.
• Inform physicians of patient reactions; instruct patients in breathing techniques.
• Maintain accurate patient and departmental records.
• Perform blood gas punctures and interpret results; utilize monitoring and diagnostic equipment following protocols.

Qualifications

• Completion of an AMA-approved RRT program.
• Basic Life Support Certification (American Heart Association).
• Must obtain RRT credential from NBRC within 6 months of hire.
• Provide academic diploma or transcripts.
