Job summary

St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Kentucky seeks a Registered Respiratory Therapist to assess patients’ pulmonary status and administer respiratory therapies. You will ensure safe, effective care and assist with diagnostic tests as part of a high-performing team.

You will mentor students, conduct ventilator support, and participate in sleep disorders care while upholding regulatory standards and teamwork. This role emphasizes excellence, compassion, and continuous learning.

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist with NBRC credential.
• Current state licensure or eligibility to practice Respiratory Therapy.
• Associate degree or higher in applied science or equivalent.
• ACLS certification preferred or required post‑hire.

Responsibilities

• Administers respiratory treatments and gas therapy per current standards.
• Maintains and decontaminates equipment; keeps a clean and safe work area.
• Documents effects of therapy and communicates with care team for continuity.
• Mentors students from clinical affiliates and participates in sleep disorders team activities.
• Performs bedside spirometry and other diagnostic tests as needed.
• Initiates and maintains CPR (BLS) and participates in care planning.
• Contributes to patient education and promotes patient cooperation with treatments.
