Job summary

The Respiratory Care Practitioner at Dameron Hospital provides cardio-pulmonary services in Baton Rouge per the State Respiratory Care Practice Act and hospital policies. You will administer pharmacological and diagnostic/therapeutic agents related to cardio-pulmonary care as prescribed by a physician, using safe and aseptic techniques.

Responsibilities include supporting treatment, pulmonary rehabilitation, and diagnostic regimens while maintaining excellent communication and patient care

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved School of Respiratory Care.
• Current NBRC credential (CRT or RRT) valid.
• Current and valid State Respiratory Care Licensure.
• Excellent communication, customer service, organizational, prioritizing and critical thinking skills.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Provide cardio-pulmonary services per the State Act and hospital policies.
• Administer pharmacological and diagnostic/therapeutic agents related to cardio-pulmonary procedures.

Job description

The Respiratory Care Practitioner will provide cardio-pulmonary services according to the scope of the State Respiratory Care Practice Act and the hospital policy and procedure manuals. The Respiratory Care Practitioner may administer and perform those direct and indirect cardio-pulmonary services, including but not limited to, the administration of pharmacological and diagnostic and therapeutic agents related to cardio-pulmonary procedures necessary to implement a treatment, disease prevention pulmonary rehabilitation, and diagnostic regimen prescribed by a physician using safe and aseptic techniques.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an American Medical Association approved School of Respiratory Care
• Current National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) credential (i.e., CRT, RRT).
• Current and valid State Respiratory Care Licensure
• Excellent communication, customer service, organizational, prioritizing, and critical thinking skills
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English
• Sufficient hearing, vision and dexterity to perform duties safely
